COACH GEORGIE

Say hello to Coach Georgie, a volleyball aficionado with over 19 years of coaching and 25 years of playing experience!

He has been coaching since 2004 and has led teams to many successful seasons, including his current position as U18 Girls Head Coach at Grace Volleyball Academy (GVA) since 2022.

Coach Georgie has an impressive resume of coaching gigs. He's served as the head coach for Melaka SUKMA in 2013, head coach at Multimedia University (MMU) in Melaka from 2013 to 2018, and head coach at Melaka Manipal Medical College (MMMC) from 2016 to 2018.

​

On the playing side, Georgie Ong has captained many teams, including District Merlimau from 2001 to 2003 and TAR College from 2006 to 2009. He also represented Melaka U16 in 2002 and Melaka U18 in the MSSM games in 2003.

Coach Georgie has been an affiliated member and coach of the Melaka Amateur Volleyball Association (MVA) since 2012, and he earned his Coaching Volleyball Level 1 certification in 2009.

Fun fact about Coach Georgie: if he had to eat the same food for the rest of his life, he would choose his mother's cooking. He also values his sleep and prefers to spend his free time catching some zZzs :)
